Samsung Swears They Didn’t Copy Apple Even Though Their Store Looks Just Like An Apple Store

Big glass walls? Check. Wood product tables with open layout? Check. Minimalist design? Check. Retail staff wearing blue t-shirts? Check. This isn’t an Apple Store, though; it’s the newest Samsung Experience store that just opened in Sydney where visitors can play with all the greatest smartphones, tablets, and laptops on the planet made by Samsung.

The store looks a lot like the inside of the Apple Store that’s just a short walk away, but Samsung swears they didn’t copy Apple this time, or even look at what Apple was doing in the retail space. Right!

Asher Moses went to the store opening for The Brisbane Times and asked Samsung Australia’s Vice-President of Telecommunications, Tyler McGee, why they put the Samsung store right around the block from an Apple Store.

“That didn’t even come into the equation when we were looking for a location [for the store]. If you look at our layout this is the layout that we use around the world and it’s about basically giving the consumers the opportunity to interact, learn and play with our devices,” McGee said.

Maybe it’s nearly impossible to not copy some aspects of the distinctive aspects that have made Apple Stores so popular. I don’t know. But it looks pretty similar, and when you’ve already been accused of ripping off another company’s ideas relentlessly, you’d think Samsung would start to mix things up a bit.

Check out the video below to see more about the Samsung Store and watch Asher Moses question Samsung about whether or not they copied Apple.
