A professional clown has been arrested for possession of Steve Jobs’s stolen iPad a month after it was taken from the Apple co-founder’s home in Palo Alto, California. 47-year-old Kenny the Clown, whose real name is Kenneth Kahn, was busted in San Francisco while using the stolen device to entertain local kids.
Kahn used the iPad to play the Pink Panther theme tune, and a number of Michael Jackson tracks during his clown routine.
He maintains that he had no idea the 64GB iPad was stolen during the burglary on Jobs’s home last month, but it was reportedly given to him by the burglar himself, who is 35-year-old Kariem McFarlin from Alameda, on July 17. Kahn told Mercury News:
“It would be like getting a football from Joe Montana that was stolen out of his house,” said the 47-year-old professional clown, whose real name is Kenneth Kahn. “It’s bizarre; it’s really bizarre.”
McFarlin also gave another iPad to his daughter; both devices have now been returned to Jobs’s family by police. He also stole iPods, Macs, jewelry and Jobs’s wallet — which included a one dollar bill and Jobs’s driving license.
McFarlin gained access to the house, which is currently undergoing major renovation work, after finding a spare key on the property.
