IBM Agrees To Acquire Texas Memory Systems

This article is more than 10 years old.

IBM said it has agreed to acquire privately held Texas Memory Systems, a Houston-based developer of high-performance flash memory solutions. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company notes that Texas Memory Systems sells its solid-state memory products as the RamSan family of shared rack-mount systems and Peripheral Component Interconnect Express cards. "The products are designed to help companies improve performance and reduce server sprawl, power consumption, cooling, and floor space requirements, all of which in turn can help clients save money, improve performance and invest more in innovation," IBM said.

IBM notes that Texas Memory has about 100 employees. The deal is expected to close later this year.
