The likes of Marcus Wareing and Paul Heathcote have contributed recipes to Great British Chefs Summertime. There are some fantastic looking dishes, for a range of cooking abilities, all beautifully photographed and explained in detail. Just skimming through this app will make you hungry.

There is a built-in timer, an option for adding your own notes and, in a nice touch, voice control to move from one step to the next - perfect for chefs with messy hands. The app is backed by online supermarket Ocado so there is an easy option for adding ingredients to your Ocado basket. Proceeds from app sales, incidentally, go to the Action Against Hunger charity.

At launch the app displays a picture of one of the chefs - chosen at random, I think - and a brief box with their details. From there you can read more about the chef or view each chef's recipes. You can even get information about their restaurant and view the chef's latest cookbook.

Alternatively, you can use the menu in the top left corner to see all the recipes, jump straight to your favourites or watch some of the included instructional videos. Want to learn how to butcher a quail? You're in luck: a video demonstration is included.

Great British Chefs Summertime offers a good selection of recipes from some of Britain's best chefs. It's well worth exploring.
