Outmaneuver is the perfect title for a game of this type. In this game, that plays very much like a board game, players must maneuver their units around a game board of hexagonal tiles in an attempt to find their opponent's headquarters and destroy it. Board game fans may notice several similarities with the classic board game Stratego, but this game should in no way be confused with a cheap knock off of the classic. Outmaneuver, while clearly inspired by such board games, has several unique gameplay mechanics that give it its own strategic flavor.

In this game, players have units numbered from one to five, a headquarters, an assasin, and a few wormholes. Each player begins the game by placing their units around their half of the board in whatever configuration they like. Then players take turns making two moves per turn. In moving their pieces, players try to discover how their opponent has placed their own pieces and ultimately find and destroy the opponent's headquarters. Units with higher numbers will destroy units with lower numbers. The assassin can destroy the highest units, but can be destroyed itself by any other unit. By moving their pieces around strategically, players will find and capture their opponent's headquarters to win the game.

Different units can move a different amount of spaces per turn, and some units even have special abilities. For example, there are wormhole tiles that each play can place in defense of their units or headquarters and an engineer unit (numbered two) can manipulate these wormholes to make them a permanent defense.

With the variations on classic gameplay, this game is familiar yet new and it is lots of fun to play. Unfortunately, players won't be able to play this one alone. There are only online and pass and play multiplayer options available in this game. There is no option to play against AI. That said, finding games with random opponents online is possible and playing with a friend can be lots of fun too. Fans of classic strategy board games should give Outmanuever a try for sure.
