Microsoft Dynamics CRM for iPad and Android hits 6-month delay

Mobe support moves from Q2 to Q4

Mobile support for Microsoft’s Dynamics CRM suite has been delayed until the end of 2012.

Concern over poor design and finish of the application port seem to be behind the delay.

Back in April, Microsoft promised that Dynamics CRM for iPad, iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone 7 would be available between April and May as part of a Q2 update to the suite. Cross-platform is now pencilled in for an update in the fourth quarter.

A Microsoft blog post here, uncovered by Mary-Jo Foley here, cites that old favourite “feedback” from customers and partners as the reason for the push-back.

"After listening to the feedback from our customers and partners we are delaying availability of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile and cross-browser support," Microsoft said.

"At the heart of the Q4 release we are focused on delivering a more compelling customer experience in mobile and cross browser."

The Dynamics update Microsoft has delivered features industry templates for wealth management, non-profit, life and annuity insurance sales as well as health plan sales. Support for SQL Server 2012 will be delivered in an update in August. ®
