What Bugs iPhone 4S, Galaxy S III Users

This article is more than 10 years old.

What’s the top complaint of iPhone users? Apple’s smartphone runs out of juice too quickly.

The complaint was one of a wide range of gripes FixYa heard when they surveyed users of the latest smart phones, ranging from Samsung’s Galaxy S III to the Nokia Lumia. And the complaints differed markedly from phone-to-phone.

The crowd-sourced trouble-shooting guide says it compiled the complaints from feedback from more than 25 million users, 650,000 experts, and work with '15 million product  problems and solutions.'

So don't look for information on which phones have the most -- or least -- problems here. Instead FixYa focused on documenting the most common complaints for each smartphone.

For iPhone users, battery life remains the biggest gripe. Other complaints: difficulty about connecting to wi-fi networks, hassles with the phone’s Bluetooth wireless connection, and complaints about Siri -- Apple’s voice-activated digital assistant.

FixYa offered several ways to reduce the phone’s battery use, such as turning off the phone’s location services, turning off push notivations, fetching email manually instead of automatically, and turning down the screen’s brightness.

Samsung’s freshly-launched Galaxy S III attracted complaints about the phone’s microphone. The suggested fix: restart the phone, and if that doesn’t work, update the device’s firmware. Other complaints: battery life, the device’s heat, and Internet connection issues.

For more details, and a look at some of the complaints voiced by those using the BlackBerry Curve, Galaxy Nexus, HTC Titan II, and Nokia Lumia 900, check out FixYa’s writeup of its survey here.
