Zeen, the mysterious magazine discovery and creation website, will make its debut next week.

Zeen is the brainchild of YouTube co-creators Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, who appeared at LeWeb London this week and briefly discussed the upcoming launch.

"We're currently heads down working on Zeen and expecting to launch within the next few weeks," the company said in a statement. A specific date has not been set.

Zeen will allow users to create online magazines and publications. But that is about all anyone really knows about the project, which is in development at Avos Systems, an Internet company led by Hurley and Chen.

Domain-name-sleuthing site Fusible first discovered the magazine-publishing service in April. Zeen then announced itself on Twitter and Facebook, posting updates with little information about the yet-to-be-revealed service. Visitors to Zeen.com's "Coming Soon" splash page are encouraged to register a username for the secretive site.

According to Zeen's Privacy Policy, last updated April 4, users will be able to add content including links, images, videos, text, sound, comments, notes, and tags, which will be publicly viewable via the website.

Last year, Avos emerged with the much-talked-about of social bookmarking service Delicious, which Avos purchased from Yahoo in April 2011. The relaunch included the addition of Stacks, or playlists for the Web, which allow users to collect videos and links about topics before publishing them in one central location.

Avos also recently unveiled a Chinese version of the bookmarking site, Mei.fm.
