Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad

It had me at "Hello." IPad 2 and iPad 3 compatible, this keyboard is one of my new favorite toys. At first glance, it was already showing up my current iPad keyboard. Not only is the new Logitech keyboard shiny, it also looks great on my iPad and it’s slim enough to fit in my current Mickey Mouse iPad sleeve. My previous keyboard was bulky and added a lot of weight to my device. This keyboard feels lighter and easier to take with me.

After placing my iPad face down on the device, the magnetic smart bar grabbed a hold of my iPad and it held on pretty well. I docked the iPad in the magnetic slot and again the magnets held their own. I was surprised that it actually took some effort to release the device from the magnet's grip. A major bonus was the ease of connecting it via Bluetooth to my device. There was no password for the connection, which surprised me, but I was happy not to have another pass-code to memorize.

I opened up my docs to go to the application and started typing. I wrote a few pages in my journal with the keyboard and it was really nice. The shortcut keys were easy to remember and came in handy for cutting and pasting to move around some of my paragraphs. It sat pretty well on my lap and on my desk. Since it’s the same size as my iPad, I’m hoping to get a skinit for the back of the keyboard to keep it from getting scratched up. A few times I had to shut down for a little bit to take care of my 6-year old son, but when I returned the keyboard would connect back up without me having to go back through the settings to force it.

Overall, I am very happy with the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for my iPad 3. It’s easy to use and looks great on my device. I still think my previous keyboard is a great device, but my new Logitech keyboard has forced it into retirement.

"In exchange for my time and efforts in reporting my opinion within this blog, I received a free review sample. Even though I receive this benefit, I always give an opinion that is 100% mine."

__Update: I was contacted by Skinit and they were kind enough to give me a free customized skinit for my keyboard. It worked out great with some tweaking. __

__First, I made the mistake by getting a skinit for my iPad 3. If you want this for your keyboard, I would suggest you purchase it for an original iPad (not iPad 2 or 3) model. The second thing is that you will have to do some trimming, but by purchasing a skinit for the original iPad, you will have less trimming to do. __

__The skinit has been on both my iPad and my keyboard for a couple of weeks and I am very happy with the end results. __
