Webbies is a puzzle game that includes an evil wizard, cute forest animals, and a pesky spider. The puzzles aren't complicated to finish, but it does take some thinking to achieve three stars on most levels. I honestly thought the game was going to be easy because of the cute theme, but it provided more of a challenge than I expected.

The game involves saving forest animals from starving by flinging their required food into their mouths. The story starts with an evil wizard giving a spider special powers so that his web is stronger and can wrap up all of the forest animals' food. The player saves the animals by flinging the food out of the web and at the animals. Generally, levels can easily be completely by just slingshotting each piece of food to each animal individually. But, like most iOS puzzle games, the player is working at achieving three stars. The amount of stars achieved depends on the amount of points gained in a level. To get extra points in a level, players can do things like bounce food off walls, combine foods together, feeding all of a particular food to an animal in one shot, and more. Sometimes, players can even find a way to get more points than the required score for three stars.

The grahpics arent't stunning but the forest animals were cute and it's sad to see scenes with the animals crying. The music is a relaxing synth tune that never really gets repetitive. It helps remind players that there's no time limit on the levels and to just keep the game at a slow and thoughful pace. And the music at the level select screen is even better. It's a nice combination of whistling, forest sounds, and an acoustic guitar (that part reminded me of Carcassonne).

It's hard to criticize the game. The only problem (sort of) that I had with it was the bonus levels. Bonus levels let the player earn more uses of the "aim" button, which allows the user to see the path of the food before it's shot (sort of like Peggle). My problem is that the bonus levels could be restarted at any point during the level, making it quite easy for anyone to just keep retrying until he or she received the maximum number of uses.

For a universal puzzle game with 100 levels at $0.99, there's no reason for any puzzle fan to pass this one over. Add Webbies to your "Puzzles" folder and call it a day.
