Pulp For iPad And Mac Updated With Smart Home Page And iCloud Sync

May 25, 2012
True to its name, Pulp is an app that displays your feeds in a manner inspired by print media. Just like Flipboard, you ask? Well, yes, but not exactly. Pulp's appearance is actually far removed from Flipboard's well-known magazine-like presentation. It neither executes stylized page flips nor sets articles from your feeds at random places. That's not to say, though, that Pulp is, like good old newsprint, largely static. In fact, its latest update underscores its ability to deliver automatically curated articles while still keeping your feeds exactly where you expect them to be. Available in iPad and Mac versions, Pulp has been updated with, among other improvements, a new "smart" home page. The home page makes use of some algorithmic magic to analyze your existing feeds and show only the feed items that are currently of most note. Aside from that, another important addition brought by the update is iCloud syncing. If you have both versions of the app, you can enable iCloud integration so as to sync your Pulp content across your iPad and Mac. And exclusive to the new iPad, Retina graphics are now supported by the app as well. In celebration of the update's release, both iPad and Mac versions are available now at half their regular prices in their respective App Stores. Pulp for iPad is at $2.99, while Pulp for Mac is at $4.99. I'm a Reeder person through and through, but if I were to pick a more visually striking app to read my feeds with, I'd pick the relative simplicity of Pulp over an app like Flipboard, Pulse, or Zite. And seeing as it's on sale, I'd purchase it right about now.
