Facebook unveils mobile Camera app

Facebook, the dominant home for online photo sharing, is releasing a new camera app for the iPhone that will attempt to make the process for posting images to the social network easier.

Facebook, where some 300 million photos are uploaded daily, says the new app will be the place for users to sift through their most recent photos, tag and write captions and select several photos at once to upload directly to Facebook.

"The emphasis is on storytelling," says Dirk Stoop, Facebook's product manager for photos.

While the app will work on the iPad, a special version for the tablet hasn't been created. So far, the app is just for the Apple platform, not Android.
