Pro Tools 10.2 Read Me and What's New
The Read Me file documents important compatibility information, known issues, error messages, etc.
Pro Tools HDX
HDX hardware is not supported in an Expansion Chassis (Magma EB1, EB4, EB7, or Thunderbolt chassis) at this time.
Pro Tools HD Native
If you are using HD Native hardware and were running Pro Tools 9.0.4 or earlier before upgrading to 10, you will need to update the firmware on the Native card. Please see k429831 to download the Avid NativeCardFlasher and update the HD Native card main and safe firmware images to version 1.03. The firmware update built into the Pro Tools launch process will not work on Mac OS 10.6.8 or higher. If you are upgrading from Pro Tools 9.0.5 or later, a firmware update will not be required as the card will already have version 1.03 installed.
Authorization
Pro Tools HD 10.x software requires both Pro Tools 10 and Pro Tools HD 10 iLok authorizations to launch.
Installation
- Pro Tools 10 uses a single installer for both Pro Tools and Pro Tools HD. The installation is the same for both; only the authorization is different.
- Pro Tools 10.2 is a full installer (so previous versions should be uninstalled before running the 10.2 installer). See the Pro Tools Software Installation Guide for complete instructions.
