Fat Kid Ninja Review

Hate eating vegetables? Then playing Fat Kid Ninja will be appealing since it is all about killing some hostile and evil vegetables. The game lacks the depth of some other casual games, but it’s great for killing a few minutes. It’s apparent that the developers have tried to make a light-hearted and funny game.

The game consists of fat, dorky-looking kid standing in the center of the screen with a sword and ninja stars. Tapping the screen will throw ninja stars in the direction of the where the screen was tapped and swiping causes fat kid ninja to swing his sword. Evil vegetables attack for all sides and try to hit the kid. Some of the vegetables include corn, carrots, eggplants, and pea pods, which shoot peas.

The left side of the screen has icons for four unique special attacks, such as lightning attack that destroys all of the vegetables on the screen, and 360 degree slice. The four special attacks all look different and are good additions to the game play.

A downside to this game is that the gameplay gets monotonous after a while. It is very good for a few killing a few minutes, but playing it for prolonged periods of time will probably get boring. The special attacks do offer some variation in the game play, but it’s definitely a casual game that won’t keep a player’s attention for more than an hour.

The game has a very good tutorial, which shows the different ways to fight the vegetables, and demonstrates the special attacks. The app integrates with game center and has achievements. Also, a nice feature is the ability to view the funny and well-drawn animated cut scenes from the main menu.

Overall Fat Kid Ninja is a good casual game. It lacks depth and can get repetitive, but is perfect for killing a few minutes. The controls are easy to learn and the special attacks offer a nice twist. Anybody who hates eating his or her vegetables should consider giving it a try.
