Adorkable actress Zooey Deschanel shines in "New Girl," one of the best comedies on network TV. But in the latest Apple iPhone 4S ad, not so much. Comedy Web site Funny or Die takes aim and skewers her in its latest parody.

Unfortunately, Deschanel comes across more as a dork than adorkable in the Apple video promoting the , and that's what the comedy geniuses at Funny or Die have parodied: faux-brother "Jooey Deschanel" wanders around a trailer, wondering what his sister is doing, and dancing to music even Siri doesn't want to play.

Unfortunately for Apple, the real Zooey Deschanel looks out the window in the authentic Apple commercial and wonders if it's raining - when, of course, it's clearly raining. Asking an obvious question of Apple's "magical" assistant doesn't exactly set the bar too high. So it's not surprising that writer/director/actor Scott Gairdner and his partner, Danny Jelinek, essentially reproduce the opening scene. In a sense, it's a nod to Tina Fey's interpretations of Sarah Palin, where she simply rewords answers Palin already gave in real life.

The southern twang that Gairdner gives the character is a bit odd, given that Deschanel doesn't really affect an accent in "New Girl," but the gist is basically that Siri belongs in the hands of geeks, not those who don't know what to do with her.

Below, check out the video for yourself, as well as Zooey's effort, below. Now, we have to ask, is Funny or Die planning a parody of the Samuel L. Jackson commercial, as well? Because Jooey probably doesn't even know what risotto actually is.
