ScrollMotion, maker of nifty iPad apps, lands $5 million in debt funding

ScrollMotion, a New York company that assists a wide range of big-name clients in creating amazing apps for the iPad (and other tablets) and smartphones, has taken $5 million in debt funding according to an SEC filing.

We’ve reached out to the company for more details on the fundraising and will update this post when and if they get back to us.

ScrollMotion’s solutions basically help companies build and maintain interactive iPad publications and custom enterprise tablet applications.

The company specializes in helping clients publish interactive content across children’s books, magazines, textbooks, corporate communications, and more.

Clients include GE, Disney, Esquire, Hallmark, Warner Bros. and Oprah.

The company was started in early 2008 by Josh Koppel (chief creative officer) and serial entrepreneur John Lema (CEO).

In its early days, ScrollMotion focused more on the creation of mobile apps, including an e-reader application for the iPhone called Iceberg Reader.

The company is also quite an active submitter of Windows Phone applications these days.
