Apple fanboi offers to change name to get WWDC ticket
Will also do your community service - too late for Lohan
A crazed Apple fanboi has offered to change his name by deed poll to the name of whoever will sell him a ticket to the Apple dev conference in June.
In an ad posted on Craigslist, the man (we assume he's a man) lays out his offer: "I will legally change my name to yours for a WWDC ticket – $1,600."
For some software devs specialising in the Cupertino-based Foxconn-rebranders operating systems, the wait was fruitless:
All 5,000 of the $1,600 tickets for Apple's five-day dev conference – WWDC, which begins on 11 June, sold out within two hours of going on sale on Wednesday at 5.30 PST (12.30 GMT). Tickets this year are non-transferrable, so simple resales are just not possible.
There's no financial perk for the seller in the Craigslister's offer: unless it says Jebodiah on your birth certificate, he only offers the cost price of the ticket – $1,600 – but he is chucking in some helpful impersonation services into the deal. That Craigslist ad in full:
WWDC tickets are non transferable this year, so naturally I'm willin to legally change my name to yours in order to buy your ticket. To sweeten the deal I will perform the following duties on your behalf for one year:
- Jury duty
- DMV license/registration
- Any of your court ordered community service up to 40 hours
- Visit your senile grandfather once a month
- If your name happens to be Jebodiah there is an extra $500 bonus. Thanks!
