iCloud Now Has Over 125 Million Members

Apple’s iCloud online service now has over 125 million members, Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer said during the company’s second quarter results call Tuesday. The free online service, first launched last October, provides syncing, email, and backup to all of Apple’s iDevices and computers.

The results are a good sign for the company, which announced that it had reached 100 million members just this past February, with growth of about 25 million members per month.

Apple, by integrating iCloud into all of its products, plans to base its future around the service. “”I view iCloud not as something with a year or two product life—it’s a strategy for the next decade or more. It’s truly profound,” Apple CEO Tim Cook told the audience at the Goldman Sachs Tech Conference in February.
