Best Buy employee accused of stealing 15 iPads

SPRING HILL — A 25-year-old employee at Best Buy in Spring Hill was arrested Wednesday after his employer discovered he had taken 15 Apple iPad tablets from the store and sold them on eBay.

James Vincent Faillace, who worked at the Best Buy store at 1389 Wendy Court, was charged with one count of organized fraud.

Authorities said that Faillace admitted that between Aug. 1, 2011, and April 6, he removed the iPads, worth a total of $9,489, from their packages and sent the empty boxes to the company's warehouse, then sold the tablets online for a profit of $6,013.

Faillace was take to Hernando County Dention Center, where he was released after posting $2,000 bail.
