Adidas' miCoach system is the company's answer to Nike+ in some ways, but it goes further in others, like offering performance tracking specific to certain sports. Now, the company has announced that its new team tracking technology will debut in this year's Major League Soccer All-Star Game to be held in Philadelphia on July 25th. The shoe-fitted sensor connects to an iOS or Android app that allows for real-time performance tracking, with individual metrics for each player and now overall team analysis. This allows coaches to see information like heat maps of the pitch and pulse rates of the players, helping them make decisions like which formation to pick or who to withdraw. The jury's out for now, but who knows — maybe it'll help the US do better at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
