How to: Search For Text On A Webpage
When viewing a website on iOS you may wish to search for a specific word within the page. All you need to do is type the word or the phrase into the Google search bar at the top of the display.
You will notice that this area has two options. The first is Google Suggestions. If you use Yahoo or Buzz! then these options will be present instead. You will then see at the very bottom of the search pop-up window that your have “On This Page (2 matches)” as can be seen below:
Depending on the number of words found, the match number will of course change.
Tapping on this area will transport you to the section of the website which contains this information. The text in question will be highlighted for easy visual locatability.
You will also note that above the keyboard a “Find on Page” option has presented itself. This option will be presented as soon as you tap within the Google search bar. You can use this option as alternative to search within the webpage if you wish.
When you reduce the keyboard back to its hidden view, you will also notice that the search bar remains present at the very bottom of the display. You can navigate between found words by tapping on the arrow buttons or perform new searches. Tapping on Done will simply take you back to the normal Safari for iOS view.
