Sprint TV, a long-time stalwart of mobile video in the US, has finally reached the iPhone with both its free and premium channels. The service offers ESPN, the Disney Channel, the Weather Channel, NBC, CBS, ABC Mobile, USA, Bravo, Syfy, and SPEED on the go for free. If that's not enough, you can also subscribe to additional channels including Comedy Central, Fox News, and MTV in packages ranging from $4.99 to $9.99 a month. To use the service, you'll need either a data plan or Wi-Fi connection: without, Sprint will charge you $0.03 per KB, which is likely to stack up pretty quickly when streaming video.

The app joins the Android and Windows Phone versions that have been available for some time. This isn't the first streaming app from a US carrier — AT&T's U-Verse app has been available since the middle of last year, but comes with a monthly fee for basic service. Sprint's subscribers can now download the app from the App Store, though comments suggest that it's still got a few teething troubles for now.
