Apple’s Stock Trades in Record Territory - $534

Shares in Apple Inc. once again traded in record territory on Tuesday, topping the US$534 per share mark in the early afternoon session. The gains edge the company closer to a market cap of half a trillion dollars, and cement Apple’s lead as the world’s most valuable corporation.

The intra-day high was set earlier on Tuesday at $534.62 per share. The current record closing high was set on Monday, when the stock ended the day at $525.76.

The stock has advanced more than $130 per share in 2012, a gain of more than 32 percent since it closed at $403.51 per share at the end of the trading year in 2011.

As of this writing, AAPL was trading at $534.24 per share, a gain of $8.48 (+1.61 percent), on moderate volume. At that price, Apple’s market cap is $498.1 billion.
