AT&T has said as far back as last June that it is working on offering shared data plans to its customers who want to pool their data among multiple users, but signs of its existence were scant until just recently, when a source sent Engadget a screenshot indicating that support for group data has been added to Telegence, the company’s internal system for managing customer accounts.

The screenshot from the memo notes “preparation for the launch of Shared Data” but also says: “The launch data for Shared Data is TBD.” The new option is now visible in AT&T’s internal system, but it is not functional right now, the memo says.
