A highly enjoyable brain teasing game but it's all too short and offers limited replayability.

Some games set out to massage the player's ego and make them feel smarter and better at completing certain tasks. Other games prefer to go the exact opposite route. One such game is The Moron Test, a title all about pitting the player against some obtuse yet brief puzzles, then happily declaring they're a moron if they fail a challenge. With limited replayability however, it's about time that we get a chance to feel stupid with The Moron Test 2.

It sounds so masochistic to enjoy a title like The Moron Test 2, but it's really not as tough as it sounds. Each section requires completion of such easy tasks as touching some colored buttons in the right order or tapping balloons in the right order. It sounds easy and that's because it is, providing the player reads instructions carefully.

At times, it feels like the game isn't reacting accordingly. We're used to games responding in a set manner and The Moron Test 2 isn't very standard in that respect. Minutes in though and it becomes apparant that it's a pretty unique game and one to approach differently.

The Moron Test 2 likes to trick the player into reacting before their brain kicks in. At other points, it's all about reading a sentence literally rather than reading between the lines and 'assuming.' It plays on some very neat psychological elements and it's bordering on embarrassing how easy it is to slip up.

The downside to The Moron Test 2 is that it is a pretty short experience. Mastering each stage takes more time, especially for those determined to 3 star each level, but the whole thing really doesn't take long at all. There's limited replayability too. Given the nature of the puzzles, it's too easy to see through them after the first playthrough.

Fortunately, at the $0.99 price point, it doesn't matter so much as it's worth it for the brief yet memorable experience. It makes a refreshing change to play a puzzle game focused on lateral thinking more than regular tropes.
