Intel Names Kraznich COO; Perlmutter Chief Product Officer

This article is more than 10 years old.

Intel this morning promoted two of its most senior executives, and rearranged a number of other roles. The changes will contribute to ongoing speculation about who will eventually succeed current CEO Paul Otellini.

Here's a rundown on the changes:

  • Brian Kraznich, who has been senior VP in charge of worldwide manufacturing, becomes chief operating officer, reporting to CEO Paul Otellini. In his new role, he he continues to oversee manufacturing, while taking on responsibility for internal IT and HR.
  • Dadi Perlmutter, who already leads the company's Intel Architecture Group, gets the additional title of chief product officer.
  • The company also noted that, as previously announced, vice chairman Andy Bryant will become executive chairman starting with the annual meeting in May.
  • CFO Stacy Smith, who previously reported to Bryant (himself a former CFO) will now report to Otellini.
  • Bill Holt, senior VP and head of technology development, will also now report to Otellini rather than Bryant.
  • Kirk Skaugen, VP and head of Intel's data center business, becomes the new head of the PC Client Group, succeeding Mooly Eden, who is moving back to Israel "at his request," and will now be president and general manager of Intel Israel, reporting to Perlmutter.
  • Diane Bryant, VP and CIO, will lead the data center business, succeeding Skaugen.
  • Kim Stevenson, vice president of IT Global Operations and Services, will succeed Diane Bryant as CIO and report to Krzanich.
