Chinese company In Icons has pulled the plug on its due to the threat of legal action from Apple.

In Icons confirmed that it would stop making the toy in a Sunday note posted on its Web site.

It reads: "I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that the original intention for creating this figurine was driven by a fan's admiration of Steve. We respect copyright and trademark rights and therefore indicated on our site that we were not providing any Mac, iPhone, and iPod models with the figurine. Further, we haven't used any Apple related brands. Unfortunately, we have received immense pressure from the lawyers of Apple and Steve Jobs family… Though we still believe that we have not overstepped any legal boundaries, we have decided to completely stop the offer, production and sale of the Steve Jobs figurine."

Apple has not commented publicly on the matter and did not respond to multiple queries from PCMag.

Cupertino reportedly earlier this month, promising a lawsuit if the company did not stop selling the $99 toy.

Another Chinese company fell victim to the same fate about a year ago. Apple forced , stating that the toy was a violation of Apple's copyrights and trademarks. The detailed, $79 Jobs figurine came clad in a black turtleneck, jeans, and sneakers, and was holding an iPhone 4.

In Icon's 12-inch tall, highly detailed, moveable doll is dressed similarly and bears such a striking resemblance to the late Apple co-founder that it's slightly creepy.

Though Apple has put a kibosh on this doll, it's already become a collectors item. In fact, it's popped up on eBay with a staggering $2,500 price tag.
