NEXTBOOK: Free Release of NextScript 2.0, Development Tool That Makes Creation of iOS Applications via Markup Language Possible

Can be learned in as little as one day. Application and plug-ins can be freely sold or distributed

TOKYO--()--NEXTBOOK Inc., an E-book publishing company, has announced the free availability of their proprietary iOS application development tool NextScript 2.0.

NextScript is a development tool which makes it possible to create iOS apps without using the Objective-C language, by utilizing an HTML-like markup language. The memory management needed to develop using conventional Objective-C language is unnecessary, and apps can be developed more quickly and cost effectively compared with traditional development methods due to the extensively simplified script. Moreover, this revolutionary tool can be utilized in various application development scenarios due to it's flexible plug-in features. NextScript brings numerous benefits to all iOS app developers, including publishers, editorial production, advertising agencies, and development companies.

In 8 months NEXTBOOK has released approximately 50 apps to the App Store which they developed using NextScript. The ability to release this many apps in such a short time demonstrates the efficacy of employing NextScript for development. NEXTBOOK's announcement of NextScript 2.0, is an even further enhanced version of NextScript. Moreover, with the addition of English documentation to the already prepared Japanese language documentation, NEXTBOOK has released NextScript 2.0 to a global audience.

NextScript 2.0 Features

(1) Easy to learn script

NextScript commands have been extensively simplified. There are 23 pre-built object classes, and only 18 categories of syntactical description. Consequently, anyone with some experience with languages such as HTML or Action Script should be able to learn it in about a day. (Note that Apple's development environment Xcode is required for the application build)

(2) Flexible Scalability

Features not provided in NextScript's default commands can be implemented via plug-ins. Due to an extremely flexible plug-in system, applications that utilize plug-ins can be easily made 'ready-made'. (Note that plug-ins need to be developed in Objective-C)

(3) Economic efficiency

Developing applications using NextScript only dramatically shortens development time. Even for exceedingly complicated apps - by using NextScript and then developing only necessary parts as plug-ins, rather than completely developing the entire app in Objective-C language, it is possible to compress development time. This result of these being a reduction of development costs.
