There is a new puzzle game coming out of the App Store about every hour it seems. Each game is trying to become the next popular thing that everyone talks about. The puzzle game Prizm appears on the scene to try and steal some market share. While I don't think it has enough flare to overshadow the popular puzzle titles out there, it does contain many fun elements to make it entertaining while being a nice work-out for the brain.

The object of the game is to help the Zappies find a way to beam their light down to their counterparts, the Prizmas. Players help them do this by shifting each Zappy around the paths and obstacles in the way to place them in front of their corresponding Prizma. The game gives us a limited number of moves to complete each puzzle in order to get the best score. As is customary in most puzzle games, Prizma uses the star system to award points. Completing each puzzle within the moves allowed will get three stars and any addition moves over the limit will get one to two stars, depending on how many moves are made over the limit. There are simple instructions on how to play during the first few levels so players can learn the objectives of the game as they play.

Prizma certainly took some time to develop and I think each puzzle is very well thought out. The beginning levels are very easy but they quickly get more difficult. Players must think strategically and learn how each object moves in order to complete each puzzle in the minimum amount of moves. At first the game looks pretty basic but I really like how many little tweaks the developers made to increase the difficulty and to throw more obstacles into the mix. I also enjoyed the graphics and clean interface. The neon colors give it a futuristic feel and make for a friendly game environment.

There is a lot to like about Prizma. With its 90 levels and levels and rich game environment, I found it to be very appealing for any puzzle game lover. Anyone ready for a challenge is sure to find one with Prizma, but be prepared to try many levels over and over to get the three stars. I’m typically not one for puzzle games but I would recommend Prizma to anyone wanting something new to get hooked on for a while.
