E-Fun Announces Android Tablet and Digital Pen

E-Fun has announced a new Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet, plus a digital pen for the iPad.

Consumer electronics manufacturer E-Fun announced its latest Android tablet, the Nextbook Elite 10, as well as a new digital pen, the APEN A5, for the iPad 2 on Friday. The Nextbook 10 joins the growing list of new Android tablets slated for release this year, most notably featuring Google’s latest operating system, Android 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich.”

 The Nextbook Elite 10 is E-Fun’s latest foray into the tablet market, following in the footsteps of its Nextbook Premium 9 tablet. The new tablet features a 9.7-inch capacitive touch screen, with a 1024-by-768-pixel resolution. Under the hood, expect to find a dual-core 1.1-GHz Broadcom A9 processor, though no other details on memory or internal storage have been released. The Elite 10 will come preloaded with the Kobo ebook store and also the SlideME application manager for third-party app downloads. Rounding out the features are a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, and over-the-air update capability.

, on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus back on December 15th of last year, adoption has been slow across the board. This year promises to be the year of Ice Cream Sandwich, with more and more tablet and phone manufacturers . Google itself has Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet “of the highest quality.”

The APEN A5 Digital Pen is designed to work with , allowing users to draw and write on the tablet’s surface. The pen mimics the look and feel of a real pen and allows users to rest their hand on the screen as they write, delivering a more natural experience.

The Nextbook Elite 10 and the APEN A5 Digital Pen are both marketed as affordably priced and full-featured products. The Nextbook 10 will retail for somewhere around $249-$279 while the A5 pen is set to retail at $99, though no word yet on actual release dates.
