Perry Wins IPad and IPhone Vote (We CAN take on China and win!)

I wish to congratulate Governor Perry for winning the IPad and IPhone Vote. No, this is not a Presidential poll of tech minded persons (i.e. geeks). No, it something much more important and real. Let me just say it this way:

If you purchased an IPad or IPhone for Christmas, Governor Perry and the great state of Texas would just like to say “Thanks”

While the rest of the country has been suffering from Obama-itis (too much government regulations and power hungry unionism), Texas has been trying to make itself attractive to business (by limiting regulations, empowering free work rules, limiting frivolous lawsuits, educating ALL its people, limiting taxes) Which brings me back to the IPad and IPhone. As many of you know (well, at least the tech-knowledgeable among us), the brains of the IPAD and IPhone is the A5 chip. These chips are now made in Texas in a new $3.6 Billion facility. How big is this new facility? Well, to put it in terms any Texan would understand: Nine football fields. This is a major facility:

The A5 chip inside Apple’s iPad 2 and iPhone 4S is now being produced stateside (In Texas), according to Reuters. Sources familiar with Apple’s production details told the news organization that Samsung Electronics is now handling production of the A5 in Austin, Texas.

Though the A5 chip has always been designed in America (at Apple’s HQ in California, to be specific), Apple has previously relied on Samsung’s overseas factory for production. Apple reportedly began receiving chips from Samsung’s U.S.-based factory earlier this month. The new production line cost a cool $3.5 billion ($9 Billion according to Austin Chamber of Commerce) to construct and is said to be the size of nine football fields. Apple has previously relied on low-cost manufacturers in Asia

The new facility employs more than 1,100 workers. So the next time you see someone with an IPad or IPhone say “Howdy!” for the good people of Texas and for Governor Perry. Amazing! Apple Actually Buys Something Made in America!

And for those of you thinking, “Yeah, just one example”:

Texas export total for 2008 was $192.2 billion, higher than any other state. Between 2004 and 2008 the export total from TX rose 64%, or $74.8 billion which was the largest dollar gain of all 50 states. In terms of markets, 32% of TX exports ($62.1 billion in 2008) went to Mexico. Other major markets were Canada, China, The Netherlands, and Brazil.

According to http://www.trade.gov/td/industry/otea/state_reports/texas.html :

You may be thinking this was oil or coal exports. These only accounted for around 20% of Texas’ exports. Chemical products from refineries (which would be much greater if Obama stops preventing the new pipeline from Canada) accounted for another 20%, but Texas exported TWICE as much in electronic products and machinery as it did petroleum and coal! (Take that China!)

Among manufactured products, the state’s leading export category is chemical manufactures, which accounted for $38.4 billion (20 percent) of Texas’ total merchandise exports in 2008. Other top 2008 manufactured exports were computers and electronic products ($35.2 billion), machinery manufactures ($27.3 billion), and petroleum and coal products ($25.3 billion).

You can see many more details at http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/statistics/state/data/tx.html .

What Texas shows is that (with the right leadership and government policies) we can take on China and win! Governor Perry has served as Governor for the last 10 years.

The irony is quite remarkable, in this post.

Those devices, are made in China.

Are you trying to tell us Perry is pro-American in trade?

Enough to actually do something about the utter sell-out which is our so called trade policy?

I have long felt that America can compete with low wage country’s by producing “The Finest” products in the word.

John Edwards precious textile “Meals” could still be operating if they had chosen to produce the “finest” textiles in the world rather than try to produce the cheapest.

This is the perfect example of why I am supporting Gov. Rick Perry for president. I want his Midas touch to rub off on the rest of the country.

Presidential Candidate [Perry] Holds Agriculture Conference Call

Gov. Perry's conversation with Iowa farmers shows his honesty and clear thinking.

Stop Federal subsidies of ethanol, and oil and gas, wind, etc. Cut back Federal regulations. Perry believes Americans can out produce any country. Stop the constant litigation done to hobble Americans and let them compete.

I posted this on my FB page as well. This is a stats election, not personality or debate skills.

When Obama says he's fighting Wall Street, what will Romney say?

When he says he's fighting Congress what will Newt say.

when he says he inherited Bush's economy what will they both say?

Perry inherited Bush's economy too and we will have a 1.6 billion dollar surplus at the end of the biennium.

Perry is the only one running who can counter every one of Obama's false claims. Newt is the poster boy for crooked congress (at least to the media and general public, maybe not to us but think as a "moderate"). Mitt is Wall Street.

We must make this election about Obama and not let him pretend he is the outsider in all this. He can and will attempt to do this.

The fear with Perry is that Obama will destroy him in the debates. A Cowboy and a Rapper on the stage will just be unbearable. Perry saying he is not a good “debater”, is not going to be pretty. Let's take it further and say it would be against a “Country Hick” and a “Street Thug”. No bets on this one. n/s

A "country hick" that has worked to create jobs vs. a "street thug" that has done nothing.

A "country hick" that has served his country vs. a "street thug" that has served Chicago.

A "country hick" that believes in America vs. a "street thug" that apologizes for America.

It won't be cowboys vs. rappers, it will be about where this country is and where it is headed.

Let's not be so dumbed down.

It's about a no-nothing socialist who has proven his "hopes and dreams" are not a fit for the USA and a free market capitalist who wants what Texas has done to work for the USA!

obama is not a good debater either, that is a an image built up by the media.

Truth will set you free and Rick Perry has truth on his side.

When is the last time you have heard obama answer ANY question in a substantial way within 30 seconds.

I don't think Obama is a good debater either. I wish Perry would make this point.

Now once we get past the fact that neither is a particularly good debater but both give good stump speeches and both do very well shaking hands although Perry does much better with average Americans, we now move to comparing records during the same time frame.

Newt and Mitt have no current record to run on. They can never compare their record to Obama's because Obama can always blame Bush, Congress and Wall Street and Newt and MItt will have no way to respond.

I believe on substance Obama will beat both Mitt and Newt even though Obama is full of crap, the media will not portray him that way.

We need a starkly divided stat sheet and Perry has this. We better not try to out slick or out "personality" Obama or we lose. We have to run against his record. The excuse maker in chief will always say 3 things, Bush's economy, Wall Street, Congress. The only one who can demolish that is Perry and he will do it with deeds not just words.
