Music
Album of the Year : Adele 21
Australian Album of the Year: Gotye Making Mirrors
Song of the Year: Gotye Somebody That I Used to Know (feat. Kimbra)
Breakthrough Artist of the Year: Boy & Bear Moonfire (Deluxe Edition)
While 21 and Making Mirrors were the number one and two albums for the year, the biggest selling individual song - LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem - didn't get a look-in. Somebody That I Used to Know took the number two spot.
Apps
What? You thought Angry Birds was the game of the year? It was the top seller, but was overlooked by the gnomes. Their picks:
iPhone App of the Year : Instagram
iPhone Game of the Year : Tiny Wings
iPad App of the Year: Snapseed
iPad Game of the Year: Real Racing 2HD
What did we spend our money on? Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, and Angry Birds Seasons. Instragram was number 15 on the free apps chart, which was led by Facebook, Viber, and Words With Friends Free (just ask Alec Balwin, though he could probably afford the paid version).

When it comes to TV shows, the gnomes seem to be on the same track as the critics, but with a weaker correlation with what people actually purchased.
Best Debut: Game of Thrones (Season 1)
Best Continuing Series: Offspring (Season 2)
Best Comedy: Angry Boys (Season 1)
Best Drama: The Slap (Season1)
The best selling series were True Blood, The Big Bang Theory, and Mad Men; with the individual episode sales ladder falling to Angry Boys Episode 1, Gossip Girl Belles de Jour, and Glee The Rocky Horror Glee Show.
Movies
Again, the gnomes had their favourites and we had ours:
Best Finale: Harry Potter and the Death Hallows - Part 2
Best Documentary: Senna
Best Drama: The Tree of Life
Best Comedy: Bridesmaids
Not surprisingly, Harry Potter and the Death Hallows - Part 2 topped the combined sales and rentals chart, but none of the others appeared in the top 20. Second place went to Inception, with Love and Other Drugs the highest-placed comedy at number three. The top selling drama was The Social Network at number 19.

And the winners are:
Best Fiction Book: Geraldine Brooks Caleb's Crossing
Best Non-Fiction Book: Ellen DeGeneres Seriously ... I'm Kidding
Best Enhanced Book: Neil Perry Rockpool Bar & Grill - The Collection
Best Children's Book: Andy Griffiths What Body Part is That? (Fixed Layout)
But sales were dominated by George RR Martin, who took four of the top five spots with A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Dance Withe Dragons, and A Storm of Swords Complete Edition. Emily Griffin's Something Borrowed stopped Martin's clean sweep by occupying the number three position.
Few people will be surprised to learn that Walter Isaacson's biography Steve Jobs was the to-selling non-fiction title.
The only one of the gnomes' book picks to make the charts was Seriously ... I'm Kidding (8).
