Canaccord Genuity analyst Michael Walkley lowered his Apple (AAPL) iPad estimates to 13 million from 14 million for the December quarter, citing “potentially lower inventory levels combined with increased competition from the $200 Kindle Fire”.

Simultaneously Mr. Walkley increased his estimate on the iPhone to 30.5 million units from 29 million units for the December quarter, noting that this more than offsets the lower iPad estimates.  "iPhone sales remained strong in the US, particularly at AT&T and Sprint. Further, our checks indicated strong global share gains. With the iPhone 4S launching in new markets including China, Brazil, and Russia during December, we anticipate strong December quarter iPhone sales."

“Due to our increased iPhone estimates, we have increased our F2012 pro forma EPS estimate from $33.52 to $34.16 and our F2013 estimate from $39.96 to $40.02.”
