State police investigate theft of Apple products in Union Township

JONESTOWN

--State police said they are investigating the theft of hundreds of thousands of Apple products from an Ingram Micro Logistics warehouse.

Troopers said a man posing as a driver went to the warehouse in the first block of Micro Drive in Union Townhip around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The man hooked up a vehicle to the trailer and drove away with the products. Further details were not available.

Four years ago, Ingram Micro expanded its Advanced Logistics Center near Jonestown from 600,000 square feet to 853,000 to accommodate its growing technology logistics business.

The facility ships more than 60,000 cartons a day to technology manufacturers and regional information technology re-sellers during peak periods.

The facility has nearly 600 full-time employees.
