Rabbits are jerks. A bird can't even take a bath without some of them stealing its feathers, leaving it in the nude. Luckily after some quick thinking and re-purposing an egg shell, the little avian is ready to get those feathers back by way of some miniature golf. Wait, what?

Egg Punch is about what I'd imagine mini golf would look like from the ball's perspective. If the ball were an egg. By touching and dragging away from the all-important sphere, players can adjust the shot's angle and strength. The primary goal is to grab as many feathers scattered throughout the level as possible, but it's possible to earn extra points (and by extension, coins) by taking fewer shots and bouncing around a lot. I mean a lot. I've actually earned better scores due to ricochets rather than accuracy more often than not. Coins can then be used to buy upgrades, power-ups, new egg shell designs and unlock more levels.

There's something extremely satisfying about bouncing that egg all over a given course, watching that bar (for points) fill up and grabbing feathers. It's particularly enjoyable to get flung between helmeted rabbits over and over again (they knock the egg around) as it can build up a huge score. The numerous other obstacles (fans, pipes, moving gates, etc...) found throughout the levels also do well to keep things varied. All-in-all, though, it's just fun to play and offers plenty of incentive to keep doing so by way of upgrades and new shells.

Dragging the camera around is sometimes problematic and the shot strength indicator doesn't seem all that accurate at times, but aside from that I can't honestly find much to complain about with Egg Punch. Needing coins to unlock new levels kind of sucks, but it's simple enough to earn more by just playing the game. Plus it's possible to get free coins by watching an add or two. In-app purchases are indeed available for the impatient, but they aren't necessary.

Egg Punch is, quite simply, a fun game. To the point that revisiting a few levels for more cash feels like a treat rather than a chore. It's cute, it's colorful, and best of all, it's free. This is a game that's totally worth checking out, whether someone's a fan of golf or not.
