The iPhone Factory Test Design Lead (TDL) is a terrific position for someone interested in working in a fast paced environment and willing to drive exciting cross-functional projects.
The Test Design Lead will be responsible for the following duties concerning both iPod and iPhone products, starting initially with iPods:
- Responsible for managing all the ongoing factory tests being conducted in the iPod Group for new product introduction (NPI) from prototype to mass production. This includes developing/executing project plans, specifying test stations and diagnostics for testing product features, specifying/implementing test process control, test data collection, and documentation of all the ongoing tests.
- Be the main contact concerning tests and processes mentioned above with iPod’s different Contract Manufacturers (CMs). Interact with internal groups at Apple to ensure that tests are being performed adequately and on time. Take care of all administrative issues between the iPod group and CMs concerning these tests.
- Working closely with the iPod development teams, early in the product development lifecycle, to create tests for functionality and performance of the iPod products. Responsible for the development of test procedures, test plans and test reports conducted at Apple and by the CMs.
- Responsible for communicating to management and Technical Staff the outcome of all of the tests for the different iPod products, and where appropriate, corrective actions.
