SimpliSafe users with an Apple Watch can now control their home security system from the wrist.

With SimpliSafe's latest-generation home security system, you can arm or disarm it wherever you are by tapping the Apple Watch app, and get activity notifications and alarm alerts on the wearable.

Note that you will need a subscription to SimpliSafe's interactive monitoring plan for this to work. It costs 83 cents per day and includes 24/7 live alarm monitoring.

To try it out, download the SimpliSafe Home Security app in the App Store and install it on your Apple Watch. Once installed, log in using your SimpliSafe credentials and voila.

SimpliSafe also recently announced integrations with August Smart Locks ($115.99 at Amazon) and Amazon Alexa. So, when you're heading out the door, you can say, "Alexa, tell SimpliSafe I'm leaving" to set the system to Away mode, which activates both the entry sensors and the motion sensors.

The new SimpliSafe earned an "excellent" rating in PCMag's review and our coveted Editors' Choice Award, nabbing props for its "affordable hardware, reasonable monthly monitoring fees," and "quick, easy installation."

"If you want to secure and monitor your home from afar without spending a bundle or signing a long-term contract, there's a lot to like about the newly redesigned, versatile, and easy-to-use DIY SimpliSafe Home Security System," we wrote.
