Samsung Galaxy S9+ is the South Korean company’s all-new flagship smartphone.

The next-generation boasts top-of the-line specs, including a Qualcomm SnapDragon 845 chipset.

The 5.8-inch Galaxy S9 boasts 4GB of RAM, while the 6.2-inch Galaxy S9+ packs 6GB of RAM.

Likewise, the £999 iPhone X is powered by the Apple’s flagship 2.39 GHz A11 Bionic processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM.

Galaxy S9 and iPhone X are the best smartphones ever built by Samsung and Apple, respectively.

YouTube channel EverythingApplePro decided to pit the two flagship handsets against one another to see which is the fastest.

Both smartphones are connected to the same wireless network – and must open a series of common applications, and complete processor-intensive tasks.

These tests typically use two laps – the first demonstrates how fast each smartphone can load applications, while the second highlights how fast an app is reloaded from memory.

In theory, this should replicate real-life phone usage, where users will be quickly switching between various apps throughout the day, including websites, social networks, and more resource intensive apps.

According to the latest EverythingApplePro speed test – the Samsung Galaxy S9+ is faster than iPhone X.

Although the Apple iPhone X wins the first lap, predominantly because it can process 4K UHD video files faster than its Android-powered counterpart, Samsung’s new phone takes home the trophy.

The YouTube video also includes benchmark tests for both flagship smartphones.

Benchmark tests, like AnTuTu, are designed to help users quickly compare performance across different computers and different platforms without getting bogged down in details of specs.

Interestingly, these reveal very different results, with Geekbench 4 revealing the iPhone X to be the winner, whereas Antutu crowns the Galaxy S9+ as the better handset.

It also looks at single-app load times, boot time, and wireless data speeds.

Samsung Galaxy S9+ does extremely well in all of these categories.

Apple is tipped to unveil its answer to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ this September.

The Cupertino-based company will likely offer hints at the new handset during its annual developer conference, WWDC, in June.
