Upcoming AMD Ryzen 2000 CPUs and APUs are due to launch next month and pre-orders for Ryzen 2000 products have seemingly gone online at a number of online retailers in North America and Europe.

Pre-orders for AMD Ryzen 2000 products include listings for six-core, 12-thread Ryzen 5 2600 and 2600X, eight-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7 2700 and 2700X. While it is not confirmed yet but, according to some leaked benchmarks, 2700X is the fastest processor in the upcoming Ryzen 2000 series.

According to the listings, Ryzen 5 2600X has 3.6 GHz base and 4.25 GHz boost clocks with 2700X having 3.7 GHz base and 4.35 GHz boost clocks. Reportedly, Ryzen 2000 products will come with Wraith coolers as stock cooler.

As for the price, Ryzen 5 2600X is priced at $275 and Ryzen 7 2700X comes with a $423 price tag. Not only that April 19 appears to the be the release date for Ryzen 5 2600X.

In related news, CTS Labs recently reported 13 Spectre-Like AMD security Exploits and noted that virtually all AMD CPUs are vulnerable to these exploits and since then many have questioned the legitimacy of the report.

Not only that Linux creator has chimed in on the debate saying that the report looks more like stock manipulation than a security advisory. He further criticized that is you replace the “BIOS or the CPU microcode with an evil version, you might have a security problem?’ Yeah”.

However, according to the firm itself, they sent out the proof-of-concept for the Spectre-like exploits to not only AMD but to other major tech companies.

If you look at the situation in the following way: right now the public knows about the vulnerabilities and their implications, AMD is fully informed and developing patches, and major security companies are also informed and working on mitigation.

Do you think the upcoming Ryzen 2000 products will be able to find the same level of success as last year’s Ryzen CPUs? Let us know in the comments.
