Apple today has sent an email to App Store developers informing them of upcoming price changes in select countries. The company says that value added tax, or VAT, has changed in some countries and thus it will adjust developer proceeds. Other countries will also see App Store prices updated.

Apple says it will administer the collection of taxes and remittance of tax to authorities in Belarus, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates. Here are the details:

  • Armenia: 20%
  • Belarus: 20%
  • Saudi Arabia: 5%
  • Switzerland: changed from 8% to 7.7%
  • Turkey: 18%
  • United Arab Emirates: 5%

Apple also says that prices will be adjusted in the following countries this week:

  • Czech Republic: Prices will decrease for apps and in-app purchases (excluding auto-renewable subscriptions).
  • India: Prices will decrease for apps and in-app purchases (including auto-renewable subscriptions).
  • Turkey, Nigeria, Belarus, Armenia: Prices will increase for apps and in-app purchases (excluding auto-renewable subscriptions).

We already collect and remit taxes for Switzerland.
