iOS 11 Now Installed on 64% of Compatible Devices

Apple says iOS 11 is now installed on 65% of all compatible devices. The Cupertino firm shared the information on its App Store support page for developers.

The installation numbers are up six percentage points from the last report on December 5, when iOS 11 was installed on 59% of devices.

iOS 10 is still in use on 28% of devices, and 7% of devices still have earlier versions of iOS installed.

A 65% install rate is an impressive number, especially when compared to installation stats for the latest versions of the Android mobile operating system. A mere 0.7 % of Android devices are running Android Oreo, which is the latest version of Android. 26.3% of Android devices are running Nougat, which was released in 2016, and 28.6% of Android devices still have circa-2015 Marshmallow installed.

However, iOS 11 adoption rates lag behind iOS 10’s numbers in the same timeframe. In January 2017, iOS 10 was installed on 76% of iOS devices.
