New components supposedly destined for iPhone 8 have leaked out ahead of the handset’s official unveiling next week.

They’re not the most exciting pieces in the puzzle — that crown goes to the new edge-to-edge OLED display — but they play an important role nonetheless.

Despite CEO Tim Cook’s promise to double down on secrecy, we’ve seen countless iPhone 8 leaks in recent months. Some of them have confirmed its biggest new features — such as wireless charging and facial recognition.

The latest leak isn’t quite as significant, but it’s more evidence that iPhone 8 production is now in full swing. Although there may be shortages at launch, it seems there will at least be some units available for those who get their pre-orders in nice and early.

Published by SlashLeaks, the image above reveals what is claimed to be the iPhone 8’s speaker module with Lightning connector, and its front-facing earpiece and speaker. The latter looks similar to earlier iPhone components, but the main speaker module looks very different.

Apple has confirmed that it will be holding a special event on September 12, when we expect the next-generation iPhone lineup to make its official debut. We’re also looking forward to updates to the Apple Watch, and a new Apple TV with 4K video support.
