Dell announces new gaming PCs and a monitor at IFA

Earlier this week, Dell announced that its Windows Mixed Reality headset will be called the Visor, and it refreshed its XPS 13 laptop and Inspiron 7000 PCs. But the firm isn't done; at the IFA 2017 conference in Berlin, today, it unveiled some new devices from its gaming lineup.

The Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop features a seventh-generation Intel quad-core CPU - as the company hasn't yet announced its eighth-generation high-power processors - and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU. Dual fans keep the system cool while playing games, and the anti-glare screen is available in 1080p and 4K flavors.

It includes Thunderbolt 3, which means that you can connect up to two 4K monitors, or one 5K monitor. Of course, the PC is VR-ready, so Dell would love it if you buy a Visor to go along with it.

The Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop will be available on September 12, starting at $999, or starting at $1,449 for 4K configurations.

Next up is the new Inspiron Gaming Desktop, and the only thing that's really new here is that there's a clear panel on the side. The Inspiron Gaming Desktop was originally announced back in May, and was released in June with the promise of the clear panel coming in the fall. The panel is meant to showcase the PC's internal components, which are "bathed in Polar Blue LED lighting".

The regular version of the Inspiron Gaming Desktop starts at $599, and the model with the clear panel will be arriving in September and will start at $649. Dell says that VR-ready configurations will start at the higher price of $1,249, with the same availability.

Finally, the Alienware 34 Curved Gaming Monitor comes in two flavors: 3440x1440 with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 2560x1080 with a 160Hz refresh rate. These will be available on August 30 for $1,499 and $1,199, respectively.
