Apple has updated its iTunes desktop and mobile storefronts to start accepting American Red Cross donations for the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Tim Cook asked users to join the relief effort in a post made on Twitter over the weekend.
Apple is giving users the option of donating to the cause in $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, or $200 increments.

Hurricane Harvey is the first major hurricane to make landfall in the United States since Wilma in 2005. After striking Texas last week, it caused three deaths and the displacement of more than 1,000 people as a result of flooding and high water levels.
Apple’s charitable work
This isn’t the first time Apple has taken steps to make it easier for users to donate money to charitable causes. Earlier this month, it did the same thing for civil rights nonprofit the Southern Poverty Law Center and Anti-Defamation League, along with making a $1 million donation itself.
Previously in 2017,, Apple also updated its homepage in the U.K. following the tragic Grenfell Tower fire, letting users purchase a charity single or make a direct donation.
Apple and its employees have also supported charitable initiatives through charity auctions and changing its policies to let people donate to their favorite charity or nonprofit organization using Apple Pay.
