IKEA has added HomeKit support to its line of Trådfri smart lighting system. Upcoming support for HomeKit was announced back in May.

The following notice was spotted on the product page for the Trådfri smart lighting set:

Make sure you have the latest upgrade of the WIRELESS gateway to pair it with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, or Google Home. We continuously update the WIRELESS app with more features and capabilities.

Additionally, it appears a firmware update for the Trådfri bulbs brings support for the Philips Hue bridge as well.

I updated the Trådfri firmware, (bulb is now running firmware 1.2.217) made a factory reset (power on/off 6 times) on the bulb and now it works with the Hue bridge.

"With IKEA Home Smart, we are challenging everything that's complicated and expensive with the online home. By ensuring that our products work with others on the market, we take another step to meet people's needs and make it easier to interact with the products for the smart home, "says Björn Block, IKEA Home Smart Asset Manager.

Update: IKEA appears to have jumped the gun. Despite the comments on its product specifications, HomeKit integration is not yet ready for primetime according to the company’s Facebook page: “The plan is that everything will work as we’d like this fall”.
