Dell announces two new models of its Alienware Area 51 desktop, and new accessories

Today, Dell announced a range of new Alienware gaming products at E3 2017, including two new Area 51 desktops, high-performance monitors, keyboards, and mice.

The new Area 51 desktops come powered by either Intel Core X or AMD's Threadripper CPUs. Dell says that it will be the "exclusive OEM launch partner" to deliver a pre-built Threadripper system, and that the device will be the first 16-core Area 51 machine. If you're more of an Intel fan that wants clock speeds of up to 4.5GHz, then you'll have the company's new Core i9 option to choose from.

The AMD model will be available on July 27, with the Intel options following on August 22. Pricing will be announced soon.

The new 25-inch Alienware gaming monitor has a 1080p resolution that's "perfect for any gamer", offering a choice between Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync technology. With a 1ms response time and a 240Hz refresh rate, they'll be available in the US on June 13, priced from $499 to $699.

There's also a pair of new keyboards, called the Advanced Gaming Keyboard and Pro Gaming Keyboard. The Pro model differentiates itself with a "dedicated volume roller and 13 zone-based RGB AlienFX backlit lighting options." It will be available tomorrow for $199.99, with the Advanced Gaming Keyboard coming in at $89.99.

Finally, the two mice are called the Advanced Gaming Mouse and the Elite Gaming Mouse. Dell says that the Elite model "incorporates all the game-ready innovation of its capable sibling, and leverages advanced custom ability innovation with swappable grips, up to 13 programmable buttons, perfect for MMOs like World of Warcraft and four variable levels of weight adjustment providing ultimate control over cursor precision and movement speed to dominate opponents." Both are available tomorrow at the prices of $49.99 and $89.99, respectively.
