Microsoft is rolling out a new firmware update for the Surface Pro 4

Microsoft released a new firmware update for the Surface Pro 4 today, which should be available for devices running all versions of Windows 10, unlike the previous couple of updates, which were exclusive to Creators Update users. Unfortunately, there is no changelog available just yet, but you can download the new firmware here, which was published today.

But while we have no way of knowing exactly what's included in the update, we are expecting a firmware update for the device, among other Surface devices. Microsoft will be updating its Surface lineup to support some of the features that come from its new Surface Pen. We won't know if that's included in today's update until the company updates its Update History, which could be anytime between now and next week.

It's unclear why Microsoft has such a tough time of updating its websites that are dedicated to providing changelogs at the same time that it releases the update that it should be providing release notes for. Naturally, we've reached out to Microsoft for a comment.

The last firmware update for the device was made available exactly a month ago; however, for Pro 4 devices that aren't yet on the Creators Update, it's been since the beginning of March.
