The Army will deploy 9,783 Getac F110 G3 rugged tablets in an effort to modernize the information systems within the military branch, as well as in the National Guard. Given how bureaucracy and tech products usually don’t mix well — by the time a device is approved for use, a better one is usually available — the F110 tablet surprisingly isn’t outdated in the least.

  • Intel Skylake Core i5 or i7 processor
  • 4GB of RAM (expandable up to 16GB), up to 1TB SSD
  • Windows 10
  • dual hot-swappable 2,160mAh batteries
  • NFC/RFID/Smart Card reader, barcode reader, fingerprint scanner, GPS, 4G LTE, 802.11ac

The F110 also features an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display with LumiBond 2.0, which allows for a sunlight-viewable touchscreen panel that can be operated with gloves on. And it won’t break if you drop it. Getac says it will fill the entire order by May.
