If you are like me, running just one operating system isn't enough -- maybe you dual boot or have multiple computers. I, for example, have a Windows 10 desktop, MacBook Pro laptop, and a Linux box. The problem with this setup, you see, is that my desk gets very crowded and messy. Believe it or not, I have just one monitor for all of my computers (I switch between HDMI and DisplayPort), but multiple keyboards, touch pads and mice -- it can be distracting.

Today, Logitech launches a brilliant product that should solve my dilemma. The MK850 Performance Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo works with Windows, Mac, Android, Chrome OS and iOS. It should work with desktop Linux distributions too, such as Ubuntu and Fedora. With the click of a button, both the keyboard and mouse can switch between up to three computers or operating systems. This includes mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones (the mouse will not work with iOS, however). Best of all, both of the input devices are ergonomic and look elegant.

"The MK850 Performance combo provides a comfortable and familiar typing experience with a full-size keyboard features a number pad and carefully crafted keys that help guide your fingers. The cushioned palm rest provides full wrist support and the curved keyframe creates a more natural typing position, while the adjustable tilt legs enable multiple typing angles. The contoured design of the mouse fits comfortably in your palm, and the hyper-fast scroll wheel allows you to scroll through documents and web pages with ease," says Logitech.

The company further shares, "Logitech DuoLink, an exclusive feature available through Logitech Options software, makes the MK850 Performance Logitech’s first true combo by linking the keyboard and mouse so that they work together to provide new functionality. DuoLink enables the mouse buttons to have a different set of actions and gestures when you hold the Fn key down on the keyboard. For example, you can easily swipe between desktops and bring up Task View or Mission Control by moving your mouse. While you are listening to music, you can also play and pause by middle-clicking, or change songs by tilting the scroll wheel left and right."

While both the keyboard and mouse are Bluetooth-capable, you can also leverage a USB unifying dongle too. This is useful for machines without Bluetooth, such as a desktop, but it can also be beneficial for accessing the BIOS on a machine when USB input is required.

What is particularly cool is that the keyboard doesn't just merely work with the compatible operating systems, but it can intelligently detect the OS to provide a better experience. In other words, the keys have labels for both Mac and Windows, so depending on which you are using, the associated keys will work as they should.

The mouse looks very comfortable, but seems to be a right-handed affair only. There are two thumb buttons for forward/back, but you can customize them for other tasks too.

If you are interested in purchasing the Logitech MK850 Performance Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo, it is available starting today at a very reasonable $99.99.
