Nintendo Switch Ships Early, Unboxing & UI Videos Appear

Clearly, one retailer got very confused about the Switch launch date.

The Nintendo Switch ($289.99 at Amazon) will be available to buy from March 3 worldwide, however, at least one retailer decided not to wait and started shipping the hybrid console to fulfill pre-orders this week. How many got shipped is unknown, but it didn't take long for a couple of videos to appear showing off Nintendo's latest hardware.

The unboxing and user interface videos included below are courtesy of NeoGAF user hiphoptherobot who is one of the lucky few to receive a Switch early. It's just a shame he didn't have any games to play on it.

As you can see from the unboxing video, the Switch comes with everything you need in the box, including a HDMI cable. I especially like how Nintendo hid the connections for power and HDMI inside the stand.

There is footage of the user interface in the unboxing video, but a separate video focusing on the system features was also created:

It's unlikely more footage will appear unless the game cartridges also start shipping early. Attempting to purchase games from the Nintendo eShop before the official launch day could result in a bricked Switch.

What we can take away from these videos is the fact the user interface seems to be quite fluid. There's no slowdown apparent, which should be the case, but with questions marks hanging over the performance offered by Switch, it's nice to have it confirmed.
